Data (Use and Access) Act 2025: What's Confirmed So Far
The Data (Use and Access) Act 2025 commenced most of its data protection changes on 5 February 2026, with a new complaints duty from 19 June 2026.
Your managers know the rules that now apply to AI, fraud, data and employment, and your board can show that everyone was trained. 11 assessed courses that explain the law in plain English and what good practice looks like in an ordinary organisation.
These courses are general awareness training, not legal advice. Legal positions are stated as at September 2026 and carry their own dates. Take your own advice on your organisation's obligations.
Managers, compliance and risk teams, HR, legal, finance, IT and marketing, and any board that needs evidence of training. Several duties are new: the EU AI Act's AI literacy duty has applied since 2 February 2025, and a 27 July 2026 amendment now says providers and deployers must take measures to support AI literacy rather than guarantee it, enforced through national rules rather than the Act's EU-wide fines; its Article 50 transparency duties for AI-generated content took effect on 2 August 2026; the UK's failure-to-prevent-fraud offence has been in force since 1 September 2025; the Data (Use and Access) Act 2025 brought a new complaint-handling duty on 19 June 2026; and the Employment Rights Act 2025 changed the rules from 6 April 2026, with more to come in 2027 (all as at September 2026).
2 foundation courses, about 90 minutes, four assessed units, written for everyone.
7 shorter courses, written for the job rather than the subject.
2 specialist courses, each covering a single subject in depth, for anyone who needs it.
They are awareness courses for non-lawyers: what the law says, who it applies to and what good practice looks like, in plain English. They do not replace advice on your specific situation.
Every compliance course states the date its legal position was checked and is reviewed each quarter.
