Digital accessibility training courses

Every employee understands what the law now requires and builds practical habits into documents, meetings, images and supplier briefs. 6 assessed courses: a 90-minute foundation for all staff and 45-minute courses for content and marketing, customer service, design and development, HR and management teams.

These courses are general awareness training, not legal advice. Legal positions are stated as at September 2026. Take your own advice on your organisation's obligations.

Who it is for

Any organisation that creates content, runs a service or buys from suppliers, which in practice means every organisation. The European Accessibility Act became enforceable from 28 June 2025, and the UK Equality Act's anticipatory duty already applies to digital services. Most accessibility failures sit with everyday habits, not a specialist web team.

What your team will be able to do

  • Recognise why digital accessibility is now a legal duty as well as good practice, under the European Accessibility Act and the UK Equality Act.
  • Write accessible documents, alt text, colour contrast and video captions as a matter of course, whatever the role.
  • Serve disabled customers well across phone, chat, email and in person, and make a reasonable adjustment on the spot.
  • Brief suppliers properly, run a basic accessibility test and know what an accessibility statement should include.

Start with a foundation course

One foundation course, about 90 minutes, four assessed units, written for everyone.

Then the course for each team

5 shorter courses, written for the job rather than the subject.

Questions

Do we need a specialist web team to make our content accessible?

No. Most everyday habits, headings, alt text, captions and plain language, sit with the people who create content, not a technical team. Digital Accessibility for Designers & Developers covers the technical build side for those who need it.

Does this apply if we are UK-only and not in the EU?

The UK Equality Act's anticipatory duty already applies to digital services regardless of the EU, and organisations with EU customers or operations may also be in scope for the European Accessibility Act. General awareness only, take your own advice on your position.

How current is the legal position?

Stated as at September 2026 and reviewed each quarter, since accessibility law and the WCAG standard continue to develop.
